go to the Run command in the start menu and type


msconfig


Then enter.





In the small application that opens you should go to the start-up tab and remove what you want by unchecking it.





I suggest removing everything except for components to do with your virus checker and any video card related items - and any items that say MS hotfix.





If you experience any problems you cab just return to msconfig an put the ticks back in.





The first answer (above) says to disable services. I don't recomment that at all - no disrespect. Its the *start-up* tab you should focus on.
Start%26gt;Run%26gt;type msconfig





Click the services tab, then Check ';Hide all microsoft services';





then Disable all and hit apply





It will prompt you to restart





Also in the startup tab any programs that are loading up on start that you dont want to, uncheck their boxes here and hit apply also

You can click start-----click run-----type msconfig------click startup tabs,then you can uncheck programes that dont need to run at startup.Then click ok to exist..And you also can go visit http://www.make-computer-faster.com to download a speedup software.
