Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant,corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause ';computer slow';.

Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries.You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!It even can speed up your computer by 300% or more!

Good luck!
Have you got the original operating system disks? If so, boot the PC with the disc in the CD drive and it will give the the chance to so a full format and re-install the operating system. Somethings to bear in mind - after this completes, you will need to make sure you've got all the latest operating system patches by getting the Internet set up and down loading then (I'm assuming it's a Windows based system here). Also, any original software discs you re-install will have to be brought up to date, again by downloading updates. Make sure you backup any data you don't want to loose (photos, documents, videos etc) before you do this. And yes, after 5 years it's a good idea to go through a complete re-install. Also, ensure you get a good up-to-date anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall running (all can be had for free). Good luck - and post any other queries you have if you need any more help.
if u donot have any important data on it then, simply get a bootable operating system cd ';i.e. Bootable windows';

insert it in ur pc and boot from cd and format the harddisk. and install the operating system, before formating the pc please collect all the information for ur drivers espacially ur modem and sound card, and make sure u have them in a cd or in floppy.

if u have data on ur pc that u want to backup it

then goto www.panda.com and scan ur competer for virus and remove them, the backup ur data ';pictures, documents,etc'; in a cd ';u need cd-writer';, flash, or floppies.

then format the pc.
You could do a fresh install of your operating system. Wipe the slate clean.
