clear out all internet history files to help your pc run faster
The best way to clear your computer of dangerous clutter and viruses is to use a commercially produced product like what Symantic or McAfee put out. Yes, you will have to pay, but you are getting the work of skilled professionals as well as free updates for a year, and then after the year is up, a chance to upgrade on line for a small fee. It is worth the peace of mind.

Face it, you have to pay to maintain your computer. You also take your car to the dealer for service, don't you? You don't just buy a car and then not maintain it. Nor should you just buy a computer and expect it to take care of itself.

If you cannot afford the upkeep, then maybe you shouldn't have bought a computer.

There are many SCAMS online that promise to clean up your machine, but only load your machine with other dangerous junk.

So, save up your money, and buy a well known computer protection service like Symantic or McAfee and you will keep your computer safe and running well.
get avg and ad-aware for free, do a google search for lavasoft and gri-soft, both are free.

hope this helps?
There are quite a few things you need to do.

1. Get rid of programs you do not need under Add/Remove programs in your control panel.

2. Download Spybot and Ad-aware and run those

3. Download Trend Micro's Housecall and run a check

4. Defrag

5. Clean out Temp. files

6. Run a virus scan

7. See how many processes you are running (programs running in background) and stop the ones you do not need.
Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.

Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it.

The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out. Zone Alarm firewall is free for personal use and stops unwanted incoming and outgoing traffic. You choose which programs are allowed to access the internet. It's fairly easy to use and updated regularly.

Instal both these web browsers, turn off javascript on one and use that browser for vising unknown websites. They don't support Active X so thats one less way for problems to get on your pc.

Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

You can also download Microsofts free Windows Defender from the official Microsoft site, and the Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.
There are tons of anti spyware stuff on the market but I don't really trust them all. I suspect some of them of planting spyware.

Grisoft is good for viruses but doesn't do much for spyware.

I get rid of mine manually, which is quite time consuming but works.

Spyware usually resides in the system folder or system32 folder.

First ALT/CTRL/DEL and check to see which processes are running. Find dodgy names like sucker.exe, bridge.exe and any that your not sure what they do.

Do searches on google to find out if your running processes are bona fide.

Attempt to stop the ones you'e identified as dodgy. Some of the spyware will not let you stop or delete them, so you must use Search to find them.

Once you have located them, and if you cannot delete them, rename them.

Run regedit and do a further search for all the dodgy processes, delete these from your registry.

Reboot your computer and delete all the dodgy renamed files.

Recheck your runnimg processes through Task Manager and repeat the above until all running processes are true.
You may be having a virus. Norton, AVG , Avast are

widely used and effective antivirus software. You can
