How do you completely clear off a computer you are looking to sell?

I have a PC in decent condition that we are looking to sell. However, it has personal pictures and files on it and such. How do I go about clearing it all off so that I can sell it?How do you completely clear off a computer you are looking to sell?
If you want to save the data on it then you'll first need to back it up. If you go to my computer, right click the C;\ drive and go to properties. On one of the tabs there will be Tools and in that tab there will be a Backup Now button. It'll help you back up the files you want to keep.





Once you've back up what you want to keep. Insert your windows disk that came with your computer and then restart. It will then boot from the disk and guide you through the formatting and reinstallation of windows. Once completed all your saved data will be erased and the computer will be empty like when you bought it.How do you completely clear off a computer you are looking to sell?
Formatting does not completely erase the disk! you need a special program to wipe it clean. I can recover data off a formatted disk. I have not got time now, going out. there are lots of programs which will do it.


two programs I know of have a file wiper are ashampoo winoptimizer and tuneup utilities. how good they are i dont know. I have got them but not tried. the one i use cost me approx 拢68 its from the USA (seagate) it is very good. at recovery and wiping adisk clean. I.E:as new
Backup your files and than do format.
Place the recovery disc in the drive and run through the setup. When asked just format the hard drive. Now the hard drive is basically 100% empty.
