How do you clear everything off your computer and start over?

and im not talking about where you refresh your computer to an earlier date. im talking about completely and i know you can do it because my brother did it to my mom's.How do you clear everything off your computer and start over?
Simply put in the disc that came with it and boot from that, you will get a system restore menu and be able to set it back to factory settings from thereHow do you clear everything off your computer and start over?
You could just buy a new harddrive... that'll wipe everything off... plus you can buy more GB...
go to my computer and right click on the hard drive and click format it will erase everything off the hard drive
reboot to a dos screen and type reformat and follow directions then reinstall software
how about ask your brother?
I would use the restore disk that came with the computer or it my be in on the computer itself( had a HP that was like that...). There may be a option to save some of your data before the restore but most restore disks do a destructive format that dose just what it says and wipe the whole drive and start fresh.
You will need a windows disc, or if the windows installation files are on another partition on the hd, you will need a master/restore disc. This is because you can't just delete windows from a drive you loaded windows from.
Generally you will boot using the CD and then format the harddrive. And then install the operating system.





If you need more security than that, you have to use a wiping program to do it. Like Eraser.
when you purchased the commputer it came with CD's. Put the Cd in your computer. However I should warn you this will put your computer back to the way it was purchased and anything you installed on it will be gone. Once some idiot did that to my computer and my quicken was totally gone. I was really mad.
I would delete the account and make a new one. By deleting the account, click start, control panel, user accounts, and then your account. Then your account will pop up also with a list. Click on Delete this account and then it will ask you if you want to keep the files or not. Then decide and click the button that says delete this account.
