How do you clear a computer, to take it back to its original factory settings?

I want to wipe every single thing off my pc so I can start from scratch, I will be gratefull for any help, thankyou in advance, Rachel xxxxxxHow do you clear a computer, to take it back to its original factory settings?
you need to low level format the hard disk and reset the BIOS to default





First switch off the PC and then turn it on press the 'Del' key to go into BIOS select restore defaults press Esc and save.





For FDISK or deleting and reformatting the hard disk, as you do not state the operating system, I suggest you read the Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255867.





If this does not make any sense to you, then don't do it as you are not competent enough.

at the beginning part when you install XP/Vista, you will be asked to format your PC's partition/disk by system installing application. Choose 'delete all partition' and 'format'( not 'format fast'). That's okay.





you may need to backup your useful information in this PC to other USB disk or storage media before that.
You format the hard drive. One way to do this is to use Seatools for dos. Seatools is a free program that lets you do many different things with your drive. You can download it from the seagate website.
format all your hard drives and reinstall the OS desiered. Be sure not to mess up till here and keep everything tidy. If your computer came with a backup cd from the factory use it to reinitialise your pc.
you have to reinstall your computer from disk ( i just did this resently because of a virus)
