How do i completely clear my computer and start over

I have windows XP How do i completely clear my computer and start over
Formatting your HDD will wipe out everything, Starting over needs a clean reinstallation of your XP Operating System, Drivers and Program Softwares. How do i completely clear my computer and start over
Go to the help and support center, and type in Re-install XP. On the bottom, click on Microsoft knowledge base. It will come up with a list of things. #1 is How to Install or Upgrade to Windows XP-click on that-go down to method #4-Perform a clean install of Windows XP-on #4, go to knowledge base article 313348-click on those numbers-How to partition and format a hard disc in Windows XP-go down to how to by using set up program-print instructions.

Use the disc that came with the computer for installing. BE SURE when it gets to the point to where it asks about partitions to press D to delete an existing system, then then you will press L to confirm. Then you will press C to start from scratch. (It will walk you through it, but if you don't do it like this, you will have 2 separate partitions, which you don't want). This is the only thing that you must remember in order to do it right. Also, when it asks what file system you want to use, tell it NTFS. This is the most efficient for XP. Been there and done that. If you have pictures or anything of that sort that you want to save, put it on cd and then after install, put it in to load it back in.

Hope I've helped

P.S. You'll want to bypass repair when it gets to that point, and press ESC. You don't want to repair it, you want to replace it. Then when it's done, put in the driver cd's that came with it, download any updates it may need, and get your virus protection program on there pronto. Just like new!
I had to do that last week. If you mean to wipe the hard disk then save all your files on dvds then put in the recovery disc (if you have it) then it will wipe your disk. then afterwards put your dvds in and put your files back on then it will be like new
Put the cd on your cdrom drive, go to bios take a look at boot or boot sequence make sure that cdrom dvdrom is the first boot, then exit save, it will boot from the cd, then format your hd and install

When you bought your computer it should have come with a cd. Caleld a ';Restore CD';, dig that out and put it in the computer, and everything should work from there.
Make sure you have windows installer on disc before you do anything.
back up all your needed files before you clear everything.
f10 at start up
