The easiest way is to save any of your files to disk and then returning the hard drive to the manufacturers settings. If you still want to keep some of the stuff, you can just right-click on the documents, pictures, files, etc. that you don't want and hit delete. After you've deleted all the files you don't want, go to your recycling bin and empty it ( but make sure you didn't delte anything important ). Now after you do that I would do a '; disk defragment '; just to clean up the disks a little more. You do this by going to the Start Menu - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragment. Easy way would be to reformat the computer, just make sure you have any of your documents and photo's saved on something other then the computer.
Refortmating will clean the computer up, and it will be like it was just bought new out of the store. Anything that had been added to the computer after it was bought from the store will be taken off the computer, during the reformat.
To reformat you will need to CD or disk that came with the computer, they should say operating system on it.
You'll have to go into every file and delete what you don't want. Then go and defragment and do it once a month. This will free up more space.
Follow the instructions for disk cleanup. then open the my documents folder and delete everything but folders. Now open each remaining folder and repeat process. As a large percentage of programs save their data in the mydocument folder and its sub folders, you can delete most of the old user data.
Well first, you need to Write down all the programs that are loaded on it that you don't want. Then you need to go into the control panel and use the add/remove programs and unistall the programs that you do not want. Some programs may not fully uninstall until you reboot the the PC. Most programs will tell you that though. You need to delete all and any pictures, word or text docs, etc. that you don't want and empty the recycle bin. Then you need to go into the C drive properties and go into the Programs folder and delete all the folders that may have been left over from programs that you Uninstalled. Then you need to delete the files within the Temp folders. If you are running Windows 2000 Pro or XP Home/Pro, there are 2 temp folders that need to be cleared out. One of the Temp folders is listed in the ';Documents %26amp; Settings'; ';Local Settings'; folder under the current username. In order to see that folder, you'll first have to ';Tools, Folder Options,View, then choose ';Show Hidden files and folders. Click apply';
The other Temp folder is located in the C Drive in the ';Windows Folder';
After you clean all those files out, clear/empty the recycle bin, do a restart and then defrag the drive.
Of course the best thing to do is formatt and do a fresh install of the Operating System. Most computer shops will do that for you for a fee.

Get that computer recovery cd and restore it to factory setting that why it like getting a new pc but sloxer because its used that way u can register it on ur name and have all the other unimportant files deleted.
on windows xp go to start,then accessories,then system tools hit disk cleanup select drive hit ok also defrag complete system remove anything you dont use see control panel add and remove
