How do I clear my computer as if it was brand new?

I want to delete everything basically so that it is as if brand new... no downloads, website history.. i want everything gone for a fresh start..... how do ido this? How do I clear my computer as if it was brand new?
You can use the system restore on the PC on some PC's when the PC boots keep pressing F10 and itll boot into system restore. Otherwise look on the start menu for system restore.

Alternatively if you have a windows disc insert it and re-install windows. Make sure you delete all partitions first. Itll ask if you want to do this when you install windows. How do I clear my computer as if it was brand new?
I have been wanting the answer to that too, I will watch closely to see what answers you get
to delete all of your history and searches, go to the ';tools'; bar at the top of the screen. (it's up with file, edit, view, favorites, tools, and help) The click it and select ';delete browsing history'; this deletes every site you've ever visited and any searches you've ever done. it may take a few minutes to completely delete everything but it will work. its good to do this every few months or so because sometimes thats the reason why your computer runs slowly.
Computer programmer, at your service!

Simply reinstall your operating system.
Format the hard drive and zero all the blocks several times. This will delete everything on the computer. You will need a good installation CD to replace the OS and the software you just deleted, so have a good working copy available before you wipe the drive.
Format your harddisk, and do a complete reinstal of windows and everything you want.

MAKE A BACKUP OF IMPORTANT FILES!
Format Hard Drive completely
Make sure you have your system restore disk or operating system disk and a backup of your important files. If you have Windows you can boot from the install disk and delete the disk partitions from there. The option is at the point where it asks you where you want to install the operating system. Can't remember exactly the route but look for 'new partition' or 'delete partition'. Remove all partitions and create a new one. Voila - clean disk.

Warning: there is no return from this!! I accept no responsibility if this advice goes wrong! :-)

A good tip would be to download hardware drivers for your computer components (graphics, sound, network, etc) before you do this :-)

Update: This will clear *everything*. If you want to go military grade formatting then use Darik's Boot and Nuke: http://dban.sourceforge.net/ . Military and Government agencies use this to wipe disks. I use it at work before we dispose of Computers.
Big scary job......First back up everything you want..make sure you have all your operating system disks, then in DOS do a Format C:...Everything will be wiped clean.

By the way..the delete function only takes off the address from the file so the computer can not find it. the information is still there
